  1. Shuttle SAVE (SHUTSAV.EXE) is a shareware Windows 3.1 screen saver
  2. that 'takes over' from the screen savers that come with 3.1 like
  3. 'Stars', 'Flying Windows', etc.   It uses BMPs in its native
  4. directory as material to create spectacular collages from
  5. launching rocket trails.   It has password protection also if 
  6. that is something your want and need.   Frankly, I like
  7. it a whole lot better than other screen savers because I never 
  8. get tired of it ( perhaps I'm just easily entertained).  If I get
  9. tired of a certain BMP picture, I archive it and replace it with
  10. another I like.  At work, I use launching rockets to paint the 
  11. pictures, but at home, the kids love the cartoon icons instead.

  13. Shuttle Save is written in Visual Basic 3.0.   As such it
  14. requires that VBRUN300.DLL exists in your Windows System directory.

  16. I have a 'slick' install program that takes care of everything having
  17. to do with installation but for file exchanges across BBSs 
  18. it takes up too much room -- adding almost 300K to the files.  
  19. So . . . to install Shuttle Save, please do the following:
  20.  
  21. 1. Check that VBRUN300.DLL is in your Windows System directory.  If not,
  22.    please download a copy and place it there.
  23.  
  24. 2. Create a directory SHUTSAV
  25.  
  26. 3. Copy SHUTSAV.EXE and all of the BMPs and ICOs to this directory. 
  27.    The BMPs and ICOs supplied are just examples -- you can add
  28.    what you want.

  30. 4. Create a program manager icon for SHUTSAV.EXE by adding it as a file
  31.    in your ACCESSORIES program manager group.
  32.  
  33. 5. Double-click the SHUTSAV icon and the program will help you complete 
  34.    the activation process

  43. PS.   IF when you try to activate SHUTSAV.EXE you get a message that a
  44.       statement like 'SCRNSAVE.EXE= . . .' not found in your SYSTEM.INI
  45.       file and that you must be using Windows 3.0 instead of 3.1 BUT you
  46.       are on Windows 3.1 -- don't panic.  Go to your Windows Control
  47.       Panel and activate one of the standard screen savers there.
  48.       This will add the appropriate line to your SYSTEM.INI file.  Then
  49.       go back and double-click on SHUTSAV again.
